Akshaya centre in Trivandrum, a project implemented in Kerala, to bridge the digital divide, addresses issues of access to ICT, basic skills and the availability of relevant content. Quality ICT diffusion and service facilities (Akshaya centers) are formed within a maximum of two km for all households and network-based use of entrepreneurship.
Today, Akshaya is a tool for rural and economic development. The project is a catalyst for the manipulation of a strong economic growth and create jobs directly and indirectly in the state, focusing on different facts of e-learning, e-commerce, e-governance etc., so that the project is to take a long-term impact on the social, economic and political scenario of Kerala.
