Minicoy, Lakshadweep

Minicoy is the second largest and also the southernmost island of Lakshadweep, which is in the shape of a crescent having one of the major lagoons. A ride through the picturesque coconut woods and winding roads of the place would be pleasing. The lighthouse build here is one of the sights for travelers of Lakshadweep. Viringle is one among the major attraction here. The island is popular for the “Avah " system. The Avah means a group of houses built in a village structure. Avah consists of an elected elderly man called Mooppan. Mooppan manages the administrative part of whole houses in the village. Mahl is their regional spoken language. Minicoy is also famous for Tuna fishing.
