Bishnupur is located at about twenty seven kilometers away from Imphal Town on Tiddim Street in Manipur is a sacred location for Hindus due to the existence of an exceptional conical temple devoted to God Vishnu constructed in 1467. This spiritual site has an importance because of its antiquity and extraordinary structural design which, in a way inspired from China style.

The location is also well-known for cultivation of oranges, bean trees and clean vegetables. The fragrance of Shoibum (fermented bamboo-shoot) spreads throughout the whole atmosphere around the town. Bishnupur also has a Loktak Lake, with the credit of largest fresh water lake of east India. Another attraction of the spot is there is an ancient Red mountain, where a intense fight was fought between the English and the Japanese during the Second World War.
