If you are planning a trip to Sikkim, don’t miss the adventurous journey from The Old Silk Route to Nathu La. It’s just three hours from Gangtok and is located on the Chinese border. The border consists of a solo snide wire fence, and visitors can enjoy the extraordinary joy of seeing the Chinese soldiers with weapons on the other side of the border. Sadly, only Indians are permitted to trek this distant although only on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. An Authorization Permit should be taken before trekking, that can be obtained through a registered travel agency. Foreign person can go up to Tsomgo Lake, also known in the name of Changu Lake that is just seventeen miles away from Nathu La. This stunning 12,400 feet high-altitude glacier lake remains frozen until the month of May. Yaks are available there for quick ride and get the feel.
