Kerala Cinema History: First Malayalam Cinema – Vigathakumaran (released in 1928, directed by JC Daniel). Balan is the first Malayalam film directed by S. Nottani in 1938. The second movie of Malayalam is Marthanda Varma released in 1933. The Kandam Becha Kottu is the first colour film in Malayalam. TR Sundaram. Jnanambika is the second sound movie of Malayalam.
