H.H.The Maharaja's Govt. College for Women in Vazhuthacaud Trivandrum

H.H.The Maharaja's Govt. College for Women was established in 1864 as a Sircar Girls School by the Travancore Royal Family. But it becomes the first grade college in the year 1920 and was affiliated under Madras University till 1937. After that it is affiliated under Travancore University (present Kerala University). Miss Sarah Blunt was the first principal. Almost all students who joined the Alumni Association were placed in different companies including Multi National Companies like Infosys, Wipro, IBM, Ernst and Young etc. They are also conducting a Campus Placement cell and also other programs such as tech fest, Sports, Cultural Activities and other fests. Some of the previous alumni members of this college include famous poetess Sugatha Kumari and popular playback singer K S Chitra. The facilities of this college include well equipped library, conference hall etc... The English Audio club in the campus is unique to the college and functions on the objective of promoting English Language Teaching. This college also includes a Hostel for girls. The Human Value Club, Save Green Club, Quiz club and the Debate Club in the campus are the specialities of this college. Some of anti activities such as Ragging, Strikes and Harthals are restricted inside the campus. Rules and regulations are also strict.
