National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) in Aakulam Trivandrum

National Institute of Speech and Hearing was established in 1997 by the Kerala Government in 1997 for the welfare and rehabilitation of hearing impaired citizens. NISH has attained important goals in executing various programmes. The facilities now offered at NISH include audiological assessment of hearing impairment, hearing support selection, Hearing verbal therapy, speech therapy, correspondence education for the close relatives of hearing impaired, ENT test, vocational guidance programme, software development, research activities, diploma, UG and PG degree training programmes etc. . The Kerala Government has allotted 10 acres of property at Aakulam to NISH, where an extensive campus will be going to built. They are also conducting programs such as tech fest, Sports, Cultural Activities and other fests. This college also includes Hostel for students. Some of anti activities such as Ragging, Strikes and Harthals are restricted inside the campus. Rules and regulations are also strict.
