Posted by Arun Mohan ~ on ~ 0 comments

AD 1653: The Coonan Cross Oath (Koonan Kurishu Satyam) was a public avowal taken by the members of Saint Thomas Christian community of Kerala following the incident of Udayamperur Synod of 1599. As a result the community splits into two as Pazhaya Koottukar (Syro-Malabar Church) and Puthen Koottukar (Malankara Churches such as Orthodox, Jacobites, Mar Thoma, Malankara Catholics etc.).
